Description

This elegant 4 bedroom Kiawah Island vacation rental, tucked away in the Vanderhorst Plantation at 52 Salt Cedar Lane, received extensive updates for Summer 2015. The homes boasts a dipping pool (which can be heated starting March 01) and incredible outdoor living space to enjoy the marsh and creek views. This beautiful home features a reverse floor plan to maximize the wonderful views, and the open two-story foyer instantly welcomes you. The first floor has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and access to the renovated screened porch with ample seating, outdoor TV, and cabana bath. The redecorated king and queen bedrooms share a bathroom with shower/tub combination. A third bedroom is the perfect retreat for kids, offering two full beds with two twin trundles, cozy seating, TV, and mini fridge. The kids’ suite uses the hall bathroom with shower. The second floor features an open living room, kitchen, and dining room and is the perfect place for entertaining family and friends. The living room offers a sofa and four comfortable chairs for viewing the large flat screen TV. Highlights of the large gourmet kitchen include bar seating for six, center island, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, six-burner range, double ovens, and wine cooler and is fully equipped for preparing meals during your stay. French doors between the living room and kitchen lead to a large covered deck with dining for eight and a built-in grill and sink. The beautiful dining room seats eight and features a balcony. A powder room and laundry room complete the second floor. The redecorated master suite is secluded on the third floor and boasts fabulous marsh and creek views, a king bed, TV, large walk-in closet, private deck access, and private remodeled bathroom with double vanities and separate bathtub and shower. New IPE decking accentuate all three porches. The home is furnished with washer, dryer, and wireless internet.

The community dock is conveniently located beside the property. Kiawah's pristine 10-mile beach is less than a 10 minute bike ride or a short car ride away with parking by the fire station on Governor's Drive.

Guest reservations of 3 to 21 nights come with a valuable credit to use towards beach gear rentals during your stay! The credit amount for this property is $300. You may use your credit for bicycles, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach carts, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and more – the choice is yours!

During your stay on Kiawah Island, be sure to enjoy biking on the 30 miles of flat bike trails, golf on one of five world class golf courses, playing tennis, crabbing, fishing, swimming, boating, kids’ camp and nature programs at Night Heron Park.

Kiawah Island is about 40 minutes from historic Charleston where you can enjoy incredible shopping, galleries, antique stores, museums, South Carolina aquarium, IMAX Theater, horse drawn carriage rides, and sumptuous dining at many of the fine dining establishments in the city.

Rates may change prior to booking and do not include fees and taxes.
A $45 non-refundable damage fee is charged to each reservation.
Starting March 01, the pool may be heated for an additional fee of $75 per day.

RESERVATION PROCESS: Your reservation is not confirmed until you return the Akers Ellis Rental Agreement. This document will be sent to you via email within a few hours of making your reservation. You need to review and electronically fill out, sign, and submit the agreement within 24 hours. Once returned, Akers Ellis will collect payment and send you a reservation confirmation via email.

Our week at 52 Salt Cedar Lane was perfect. The house was beautiful and so comfortable. We have always loved Kiawah Island and this was by far our most memorable experience yet. Our 5 year old daughter was so excited everyday to play in the dipping pool. It was perfect for her. We will definitely try to make 52 Salt Cedar Lane a summer tradition in our family.

This is a beautiful home with wonderful views. The three decks make for ample hang out space to just take it easy or to gather the group for dinner. The only negative was the master suite door was incredibly difficult to open once closed. Need to have that door sanded down so it opens and closes easily.

We have a wonderful time. The house was a wonderful choice, great location, beautiful view, and sunrises. The property was very clean inside and well maintained. The pool is very small and is described as a dipping pool since we stayed in March we did not use the pool. I would recommend this property if you are looking for a house for multiple couples getaway or large family.

Beautiful home with amazing view of Cinder Creek! We even saw a dolphin in the creek from the balcony one morning! Osprey, deer, dolphin -all were seen from the various porches of this home, with alligators seen at the ponds near the road entrance from Governor's Drive.

Guests of our wedding rented 52 Salt Cedar. The house was reasonably priced for our friends (which is why they rented it). They had a good time.

We’ve been to Kiawah 45 to 50 times over the last 35 years and rented over 100 properties for pleasure and business. We would rate the visit and property a Plus 5!

The reservation/payment process were seamless, the property was very quiet, and, in spite of going zero for three tries , the crabbing from the dock probably has good potential in less windy conditions.

We hope to rent from you again.

Everything about the vacation was first class – the format pertaining to the rental, the property itself was exemplary, the people at your office – everything!!!
In fact, I wanted to also thank you for allowing me to leave a boat trailer and boat in your parking lot for a few days. This really helped as it allowed us to bring along a customer’s boat and deliver it to his beach house on Spring Island while we were in the Charleston area.
I spoke to both Devin and Taylor in your office a few times and they were both very helpful and professional in their efforts. My wife commented that she really enjoyed working with the Akers Ellis people (as compared to other companies we have used in the past).
We have been coming to Kiawah for over 10 years now – and will return. It will be your company we speak to first (and only).

Overall a positive experience and Akers Ellis always makes it easy to rent a nice spot in Kiawah. The home is a touch more dated than it appears in the photos, but overall a nice place and great central location.
