This rental unit is very nicely decorated, and a convenient location with easy access to the beach. The beach view from the unit is nice. We have been vacationing at this unit for years. Unfortunately, the upkeep of this unit is declining each year. The grout in the tile work in both bathrooms are in need of re-grouting. The rugs are dingy and probably could use a deep cleaning or re-carpeting. <br/> There is mold in the grout of the bathrooms and on the ceiling of one of the bathrooms. The bedding could also be replaced. If these things would be address this unit would be very nice.<br/>

Great location. Towels were clean, but old. The place was clean inside, but windows so dirty that we had to clean them to enjoy the views of the ocean. TV in a hutch and the doors of the hutch wouldn't ope to let you see the TV except for straight on. The bottom of the trash cans were dirty. The hallways were very clean and the laundry room was kept clean. Less nick knacks around, so we could have more shelves, especially in the bathroom.

The views are great but it was hard to open any of the 3 sliding doors. The unit was somewhat updated with applicances and bathroom tiles. However the master bath shower needed some cleaning and both bathroom sinks were clogged ( we unclogged one that was crammed full of broken soap) The owners should throw away blankets that have rotted and replace the very old soiled upholstery on some items. I'd rather have a new mattress than nice artwork. The unit has the potential of being fantastic, but some important things are deglected.

We had a fabulous time during our recent stay. The property was immaculate and just a few steps from the beach! The beds were so comfortable. We had plenty of space. The view from every room is just fabulous. The kitchen is well stocked and we prepared several meals during our stay. The unit looks just like the pictures - peaceful dcor and quite lovely. The complex is very quiet and we rarely saw any other guests. Free laundry facilities available right across the hall. Just steps down to the beach - velvety sand, not crowded at all, and beautiful waves to jump in. We can't wait to return for another restful week!

The unit was a curious mix of lovely French Country furniture, shabby chic pieces and nice artwork. IMHO, I would have ditched the huge armoire and reorganized the living space; also put a door BEFORE the bathroom next to the bedroom with 2 beds. On the flip side, the unit was the most well-stocked and best equipped we have ever rented. I would recommend this unit to a friend with reservations.

What a wonderful first visit we had to Kiawah Island June 24-29, 2017!<br/>The rental was perfect! Couldn't beat the location, right on the beach! The atmosphere of the place was so relaxing and friendly. When I needed to contact management about a couple small things, I received almost immediate responses. We enjoyed the beach, saw some sea turtles migrating, saw the movies on the green at Freshmarket Village, enjoyed fantastic meals out or in our condo, and the activities of Charleston were merely 30 minutes away. We will be back!

My wife and I stayed at Shipwatch approximately 13 years ago and the property was still in great shape (if not better). Our kids loved being steps from the beach and it was convenient when weather was not cooperating. Also nice to have a restaurant and ice cream shop next door at the Straw Market. The Shipwatch property manager (I did not catch his name but I know he was originally from KY) was always very friendly and my kids enjoyed seeing him each day. Our unit was exactly as described and was the perfect amount of space for family of four. We will certainly try to get this unit again when we come back to Kiawah next year.

Take advantage of special beach gear and bike credit! This Kiawah Island oceanfront vacation rental offers two bedrooms, ocean views, and easy beach access. The updated villa offers soothing coastal hues and comfortable furnishings.
Upon entry, you are greeted by ocean views through the wall of sliding glass doors. The living area features a sofa, two side chairs, dining table for six, flat-screen TV, and deck access. The fully equipped kitchen showcases custom cabinetry, tile backsplash, and stainless steel appliances. The master suite offers a king bed, flat-screen TV, deck access, and bathroom with walk-in shower. A second bedroom features two queen beds, deck access, a flat-screen, TV, and is steps from the hall bathroom with bathtub/shower combo.
The villa is equipped with wireless internet. Community washers and dryers and an elevator are provided within the building.
During your stay on Kiawah Island, be sure to enjoy biking on the 30 miles of flat bike trails, golfing on one of five world-class courses, playing tennis, crabbing, fishing, swimming, and boating. Many families also enjoy the kids’ camp and nature programs at Night Heron Park.
Kiawah Island is about 40 minutes from historic Charleston, famous for incredible shopping, galleries, antique stores, museums, the South Carolina Aquarium, horse-drawn carriage rides, historic landmarks, and sumptuous dining.
Guest reservations of 3 to 21 nights come with a valuable credit to use towards bike rentals during your stay! The credit amount for this property is $250. Please note: Within the Shipwatch community, this credit is only valid for bike rentals.

Stays of 3 nights or less will be charged an additional fee for housekeeping.
RESERVATION PROCESS: Your reservation is not confirmed until you return the Akers Ellis Rental Agreement. This document will be sent to you via email within a few hours of making your reservation. You need to review and electronically fill out, sign, and submit the agreement within 24 hours. Once returned, Akers Ellis will collect payment and send you a reservation confirmation via email.
