(5/5 stars) This is our 8th time on Kiawah, 6th in Windswept condos. This is the most convenient location we have experienced with a fantastic view of the lagoon and wildlife. We saw 3 alligators, 2 anhingas, great egrets, blue heron, and osprey close to our condo. This set of Windswept buildings has the largest end-unit wrap-around decks, unlike the others which have 2 small decks. The washer and dryer are full sized and work fine. Beds were comfortable. Lots of towels and paper products provided. It is literally a 2 minute walk to boardwalk 22. The kitchen is adequately equipped, though we didn’t really cook, and got carry out for all dinners. Got groceries at Freshfields for breakfasts and lunches. Recommend Cantina 76 (at Freshfields)for tacos, Cherrywood BBQ, and Tomassu for Italian (both owned by resort). East Beach Town Market has decent low priced options too. The condo has been nicely updated, was fresh and clean when we arrived, and Akers-Ellis was very responsive to our needs during our stay. The family room furniture was comfortable. The only issue with the condo was that the main floor bathroom shower door hinge was broken (though the shower was still usable) and never was fixed during our stay despite a note indicating it would be. We did not use the equipment rental since we always use the Kiawah resort umbrella service (highly recommend since they are spaced away from the more crowded blue umbrella area and you get a towel with each chair) and rent bikes elsewhere and are happy with our experience.
