Description

Take advantage of special beach gear and bike credit! This Kiawah Island vacation rental features 5 bedrooms, a private heated pool, large gathering areas, and a main house and guest house. The recently renovated home is about a 9-minute walk from the beach.

The home’s lovely great room offers vaulted shiplap ceilings, plenty of seating, a flat-screen TV, and access to the screened porch. The great room spills into the dining area which has a gorgeous wooden table with seating for ten. Additional dining space for is available in the breakfast room or at the kitchen island. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with two sinks, a Wolf gas oven and reclaimed cypress hood, honed quartz countertops and backsplash, and custom white cabinetry. You will find everything you need (and more!) in this kitchen fit for a chef.

Two of the property’s five bedrooms—both master suites—are in the main house. The first master bedroom offers a king-sized bed and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and soaking tub. The second master bedroom has a king-sized bed and private bathroom with a walk-in shower and jetted tub. On the main floor of the guest house, there is a third master suite with a king-sized bed and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. Also on the guest house’s main floor is a bedroom with two double beds and a private bathroom with shower/tub combo. Upstairs, you will find the final bedroom which has two twin over twin bunk beds, a bathroom with shower/tub combo, and a family room with a queen sleeper sofa. All bedrooms have 4K TVs for guests to enjoy.

The home’s 28' x 14' saltwater pool is situated in between the main house and guest house. The large pool is surrounded by lovely landscaping, lounge seating, and a gas grill. Guests will also enjoy relaxing on the screened porch and the second-story guest house porch.

The home is equipped with washer, dryer, and high-speed wireless internet.

This pool has a gas heater, so the pool may be heated in cooler months for $75/per day for the entire stay. It can take 24-48 hours for the pool water to reach the optimal temperature of 85-87 degrees. When the air temperature falls below 55 degrees, typically November-March, pool heaters have difficulty achieving the optimal temperature. In this case, pool heating will not be available.

During your stay on Kiawah Island, be sure to enjoy biking on the 30 miles of flat bike trails, golfing on one of five world-class courses, playing tennis, crabbing, fishing, swimming, and boating. Many families also enjoy the kids’ camp and nature programs at Night Heron Park.

Kiawah Island is about 40 minutes from historic Charleston, famous for incredible shopping, galleries, antique stores, museums, the South Carolina Aquarium, horse-drawn carriage rides, historic landmarks, and sumptuous dining.

Guest reservations of 3 to 21 nights come with a valuable credit to use towards beach gear rentals during your stay! The credit amount for this property is $400. You may use your credit for bicycles, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach carts, and more – the choice is yours!

RESERVATION PROCESS: Your reservation is not confirmed until you return the Akers Ellis Rental Agreement. This document will be sent to you via email within a few hours of making your reservation. You need to review and electronically fill out, sign, and submit the agreement within 24 hours. Once returned, Akers Ellis will collect payment and send you a reservation confirmation via email.

We had a wonderful time with just a couple of small hiccups at house. Primary suite shower was clogged with standing water. Since it was late Saturday afternoon when we arrived my husband went to the hardware store and bought what was necessary to fix it. We didn’t report it to agency. A couple of big pots in kitchen would be nice for low country boil or pasta meals. Use of garage remotes would also be very handy.

We have been staying at 147 Hooded Merganser since it was first built. We were a bit concerned to learn that the original owners sold it as we did not know if the house would be as meticulously maintained. We needn't have worried - in fact, the house is now nicer than it has ever been. Small touches, such as the additional ice machine, one-touch kitchen faucets and labels on light switches were greatly appreciated. Additionally the service from Akers-Ellis was superb. When we had a dishwasher problem, a service tech was there within the hour. Thank you! We will certainly return again (and again).

Perfect week with family at Kiawah

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Kiawah. We have rented with Akers Ellis numerous times in the past 25 years we have been coming to the Low Country. It has always been a great experience. Any issues are quickly resolved by a professional staff who seem to value the importance of our family time. We love the home at 147 Hooded Merganser because it fits our family dynamic so well. 40th Anniversary family vacation

Awesome time here in such a great house so well set up and stocked for our needs. great location, quiet side street but really close to beach access, mid-island. Separate spaces for families worked out well with little ones, pool was wonderful despite cool outdoor temps.
