Words From Gus

"Fifteen years have flown by since I moved to Charleston and fell in love with the city, the region, the people, especially my charming and beautifully southern wife, Andralee! If you’ve ever made memories in Charleston, you know they always start at the beach. My sons and I started hanging out in a “secret” spot on Sullivan’s Island years ago, then found our way to Folly Beach and finally discovered the beautiful Kiawah Island. How great is it that my family gets to 'staycation' on Kiawah?! We do still regularly hang out on Sullivan's Island with our best friends and family. Like so many places in Charleston, it's not so 'secret' anymore.  

What a great decision it was to join Jeff Akers and Steven Ellis’s team five years ago after an amazing nine years as Director of Sales and Marketing at The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek. These gentlemen have put together a group of agents that collaborate and treat one another with tremendous respect. This has led to selling a high number of our own listings 'in-house.'  

I am deeply grateful to the friends and clients that have put their faith in me and entrusted their real estate needs to The Bright Approach to Real Estate — collaborating with buyers and sellers, strategic positioning, targeted marketing and identifying opportunities. With over $12,500,000 in sales and contracts in the first six months of 2018 on the heels of a sensational 2017, I believe I’m growing in this profession. And I meet the best people every day!

A challenge with any growing business is to find the balance between work and one’s family. My family loves many things - going to the mountains, fly fishing, golf, the beach, cooking and doing life with a great group of friends. My wife and my daughter, Audrey, keep me smiling and encourage me each and every day! This summer Audrey has discovered our love for fly fishing and golf. She is currently playing on the Jr PGA League girls golf team at Daniel Island Club. Add all this to her love for riding horses, ballet and jazz dance, cheerleading and now acting with The Charleston Stage Theater, she’s got a full plate. Andralee is in her 18th year as a Sr Sales Manager with Medtronic and also stays busy balancing work and our home life. I’m so grateful to her for the incredible love and support she provides our family including our young adult boys, Jesse and Wyatt. She is the glue that holds us all together.
