Rodney Smith

A lifelong Charleston resident, Rodney Smith earned his degree from College of Charleston. He managed historic inns in downtown Charleston for nearly three decades and has owned and managed two rental homes since 2000. With certifications in hotel management, floral design from Westminster Garden Club in England, and door and window installation from Pella as well as being licensed in pool and spa operations, Rodney has brought diverse experience and expertise to his property manager role at Akers Ellis since 2017. Rodney and his wife have three sons and attend First Christian Church. In honor of his son, Robert, he helped incorporate Down Syndrome Association of the Lowcountry in 2004, an organization that raises awareness and helps individuals with Down Syndrome and their families connect through educational and social programs. Rodney has also enjoyed participating in a bowling league for over twenty years.
