Akers Ellis Real Estate and Rentals has been part of the Kiawah and Charleston areas for many years – not just as a company, but as individuals. Many of us were born in this area and we’ve been lucky enough to watch Charleston continue to grow yet keep its southern hospitality and values. Giving back is an important part of keeping not only our community strong, but also our company.
When Steven Ellis and Jeff Akers discovered HALOS, they knew they’d found a group with a mission they wanted to support. HALOS provides support and advocacy to abused and neglected children and kinship caregivers. They were founded in 1997 by Dr. Eve Spratt, after she witnessed firsthand the severe lack in resources for young victims of abuse or neglect in Charleston County.
Akers Ellis is proud to support HALOS by providing Thanksgiving meals for several families in the Lowcountry this season as well as fulfilling several Christmas wish lists. Always remember that this season is not only about being thankful for what we have, but also remembering that there are ways that we can lend a helping hand to make someone else’s holiday a little brighter.
