Whether you live here or are just visiting, you are probably aware that Charleston, Kiawah Island, and the rest of the Lowcountry have something great going on every month. We love our festivals, we love being outdoors and we love anything to do with food! Even though the holidays are barely past us, we aren’t taking a breather in January. We have some exciting events happening! Here are just a few…

Charleston Restaurant Week

January 7 - 18, Charleston

One of the most exciting events in Charleston is back! If you know anything about the Charleston area, you know it's full of great food. Restaurant week gives our locals and our visitors the opportunity to try some of our best restaurants at a price that will leave your stomach and your wallet happy! This only happens a few times a year, so make sure to take advantage. See a full list of participating restaurants here and don't forget to make reservations!

5th Annual Charleston Marathon

January 17, Downtown Charleston

What a fun way to see Charleston! The courses of this full and half marathon race feature scenic water views, the Battery, and historic King Street. The finish line street festival features live entertainment and a Health & Wellness Expo with over 40 vendors. Register and find more information about the weekend's events, including a video recap of the 2014 Charleston Marathon, here.

Charleston Collegiate WinterFeast

January 24, Johns Island

Gather the whole family to enjoy some hoops followed by food and entertainment! On the grounds of the Charleston Collegiate campus and following a basketball tournament, the whole family can enjoy oysters, BBQ, archery, games and more! Tickets are available online or at the event.

Southeastern Wildlife Exposition

February 13 - 15, Downtown Charleston

This one is not until February, but we want to mention it now because it really needs to be on your calendar!

SEWE is a three-day showcase of everything we love about wildlife and nature. It brings together people of all ages, men and women, sportsmen and conservationists, artists and artisans, fans and families. Through an incredible lineup of events - from fine art exhibits, conservation education, sporting demonstrations and parties, SEWE invites us all to explore our "wild" side and pay tribute to our naturally beautiful world. Click here for tickets and more information.

Make sure you take some time to check out at least a couple of these events. Happy New Year!
