From Kiawah Island to the Virgin Islands

Everyone knows that Akers Ellis has been managing private vacation homes, cottages, and villas on Kiawah Island since 2007, but did you know we also manage a resort in the U.S. Virgin Islands? In April of 2014, Akers Ellis decided to expand our rental horizons and accept the resort management position at Point Pleasant Resort in St. Thomas. Jeff Akers, co-founder of Akers Ellis, and his wife Laurie relocated to the Virgin Islands to oversee the resort. With a hardworking and determined staff, Point Pleasant Resort has done nothing but get better and better every year. We have been voted the #1 Hotel in St. Thomas and the Most Romantic Hotel in St. Thomas by TripAdvisor

Located on a 15-acre hillside, Point Pleasant Resort has beautiful lush greens, gorgeous views for miles, crystal clear blue water, native wildlife, a private beach, three outdoor pools, a waterfront bar and restaurant, smiling faces, and lots and lots of rum.

We manage over 60 units for individual owners with room options ranging from ocean view suites to one and two bedroom ocean view villas, including romance and premiere quality rooms. Whether you are coming with your family or friends or are planning a romantic vacation for two, we would be delighted to help find the perfect unit for you. With comfortable beds, balconies, individualized decor, full kitchens, air conditioning, and wireless internet, our rooms are the perfect place to relax after a fun day in the sun.

Point Pleasant Resort’s staff takes pride in the high quality customer service we give to guests. That is why a staff member is on site 24/7 to help answer any questions or address concerns you may have. The front desk staff also loves helping to plan excursions around St. Thomas and the British Virgin Islands, giving restaurant and night life recommendations, and even helping you choose which beach to visit that day.

Many guests prefer not to rent a car during their visit to St. Thomas because motorists drive on the left side of the road and the streets tend to be small and winding, making it difficult to navigate. We want our guests to have a stress-free vacation, which is why we offer a shuttle service that runs on the East End of the island. Our drivers can take you to the town of Red Hook, the ferry terminal in Red Hook, Coki Beach, Lindquist Beach, and Sapphire Beach.

Staying the whole day on resort property is also an option. Shoreline Bar and Grille can provide every meal with their extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. We offer complimentary snorkel gear, water sports equipment, beach towels, and chairs for you to use at our own Sugar Beach. We also provide a grocery delivery service that allows you to pre-order your groceries online. Then we handle all the shopping and stock your fridge before you arrive. There is a lobby shop for necessities like sunscreen and underwater cameras so you do not have to worry about a thing! On a honeymoon, anniversary, or celebrating your sweetie? We have a romance package that includes champagne, flowers, and a framed picture of the two of you.

We understand that Akers Ellis guests love the laid-back feeling of Kiawah Island, but we know you will also love the St. Thomas way of life! Find out more information about the resort online or give us a call at 888.619.4010 to plan your perfect tropical paradise getaway.
