Spring Events in The Holy City

Aside from the beautiful scenery, one of the many perks of visiting Charleston in the spring is getting to be a part of the fun events happening throughout the city and surrounding areas. Whether you love hunting, fishing, food, unique drinks, music, theatre, or outdoors, Charleston has it all!

On February 17th-19th, the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition is coming to downtown Charleston. It will have art auctions and exhibits, dock dogs competition, birds of prey flight demonstrations, cast net demonstrations, fly fishing demonstrations, chef demonstrations, oysters roasts, and so much more. A general admission ticket is $50 a person and good for all 3 days.

If you are visiting March 1st-5th, you are in for a real tasty treat. The annual Charleston Wine + Food event will be an event you don’t want to miss. All attendees must be 21 years of age to join in the fun. Tickets are available for morning through evening and will take you all over different areas of the city, but hurry because they are selling out fast! Diners will be pleased with the tastes of the Lowcountry, featuring restaurants such as The Obstinate Daughter, 82 Queen, Circa 1886, and many more. This is a favorite of many locals and visitors alike.

If you are an outdoor sports and activities enthusiast, we recommend checking out the Charleston Outdoor Fest at James Island County Park. The county park hosts this event every year. It features everything from canoeing, mountain biking, paddle boarding, archery, rock climbing, and much more! This year’s event will be April 21st-23rd. All skill levels are welcome to attend and try out the various activities.

Zac Brown Band’s Southern Ground Music & Food Festival is a family friendly event taking place May 20th-21st on Daniel Island. Make sure to sign up for their emails to get updates. You do not want to miss out!

People come from miles and miles away to attend Spoleto Festival USA. This year it will be held May 26th-June 11th. This event is all about the performing arts, and you can catch a show at various churches, theatres, and outdoor venues throughout Charleston. The performers all specialize in opera, theatre, dance, and various genres of music. More information about tickets can be found on its website.

If you, your friends, or family would love to visit the Lowcountry and enjoy one or more of these events, please visit our website or email us to find accommodations. Our vacation rentals are just as spectacular as the events throughout our beautiful city. We would love to host your stay!
