We believe that everyone needs a week or weekend escape with their friends to relax, catch-up, celebrate special occasions or to just have some well-deserved fun. Kiawah Island is a great spot for any type of vacation but especially a girls or guys getaway. Below you will find local recommendations for activities to enjoy both on and around Kiawah Island.

Kiawah Island Activities

Kiawah Island is a haven for people who like to spend time outside and enjoy nature. It is known for being the host of the 2007 Senior PGA Championship and the future host of the 2021 PGA Championship which means it has fabulous courses. Whether you play like a pro, amateur or somewhere in between, Kiawah has 5 world renowned courses for you to play on. Take your pick at courses like Turtle Point, Cougar Point, Osprey Point, Ocean Course and River Course or play all 5 during your stay. If you are more into swinging a racket than a club, Kiawah’s very own Roy Barth Tennis Center has 9 Har-Tru clay tennis courts and 3 hard courts available for guest’s enjoyment. Kiawah Island also has over 30 miles of bike paths plus the hard sand on the beach that is perfect for exploring Kiawah on two wheels. Pack your own or rent bikes from from Seaside Cycles or Alligator Bike.

If you are a foodie, Kiawah Island restaurants will not disappoint. Upscale dining like The Ocean Room, Jasmine Porch, The Atlantic Room or Tomasso at Turtle Point have awesome meal and drink options for even the pickiest eaters. Go try the Ryder Cup Bar, Cherrywood BBQ & Ale House or Southern Kitchen for a more casual dining environment. You simply can’t go wrong with any of these delicious options. The Sancutary Hotel has a spa that offers salon services, massages and divine facials that are sure to make you leave relaxed and recharged. Lastly, Kiawah Island’s beach is a must-see while staying on the island. Whether you are laying out, playing bocce ball, strolling along the coast or taking a swim in the Atlantic, a fun time will be had by everyone in your group.

Around Kiawah Island Activities

On Johns Island, there are several activities that could fill up a whole day. Try brunch at Hege’s or Fat Hen, head over to the Angel Oak, which is thought to be the oldest tree in the United States, then check out the local spot, Low Tide Brewery, where there is always music playing and corn hole boards available. If you are looking for a unique experience, we recommend touring the Firefly Vodka Distillery and Deep Water Vineyard. Firefly Vodka was the first company to make sweet tea vodka, so make sure you try a sample during your tour.

Book Your Rental

If you are thinking any of those activites sound like a good time for you and your group, we have several vacation rentals that would be a great spot to hang out. Split the cost and rent a private home with its own pool, deck and grill, rent a cozy home with a gorgeous view or rent multiple villas in the same area. No matter what type of rental you choose, we know you are going to have a great time with your girl or guy group on Kiawah Island!
